The Good

Weapon of Choice….

-

People need to realize that when they are playing a musical instrument, you are actually using a weapon. There are many different weapons in this world, some work on a conventional level (knife, gun, slingshot) Others are psychological weapons (TV, political propaganda, times your parents tell you that you are a loser and suck at life).

Spiritual Defence

But some weapons, yes some weapons are spiritual! Musical instruments are spiritual weapons. They are you confronting your own soul through sound. You are not really playing for yourself, or playing for an audience per se. You are playing to defend yourself against a universe of universal hostilities and strife.

There is nothing simple about our world, and the obstacles it presents are seemingly endless. This is why it is imperative that we arm ourselves to the teeth with spiritual weapons.

Music As Influencer

Sure a sword wouldn’t hurt either, but spiritual weapons are the best. It’s best not to fight wars in the physical; the results are too deadly and costly in almost all instances. No death is the best result in any war. Spiritual weapons don’t kill, but they can harm. Just like rap music can turn young generations into drug dealers, so too can other jams promote better spiritual things.

Playing For Health

Of course, an instrument is good in this regard because it is pure sound. It cannot be tainted by bad lyrics that lead souls astray. Anyone can tell you that music hits on all levels, but again as a musician, you are not exclusively playing for an audience.

You are playing for yourself. You are playing to stay sane, amongst the emotional chaos that is life. If you don’t use your spiritual weapons you will be overrun. Life will bowl you over and you will walk home in pain.

Keep Jamming

Instruments are weapons against depression, misunderstanding, a lack of logic, a lack of words, a lack of spiritual direction, a way to resolve the equation of the moment, a way to discern good from bad notes, a way to take yourself more seriously, a way to define what you sound like, a way to be unique in nature, a way to understand.

Without your weapon, many of these things can seem impossible. Especially for those not attuned to other spiritual tools. Music is one of your best/only options if you are born with the relationship to this weapon. Never put it down. It keeps you being who you are.

Jam first; ask questions later.
