This Thanksgiving I’m Grateful For New Aly & Aj Music

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you aren’t aware that Aly & Aj released new music this month then you’re not paying close enough attention! This dynamic duo blessed our ears with classics like Rush, Chemicals React, Potential Breakup Song, and iconic covers of Do You Believe In Magic and Walking On Sunshine. The underrated bop that is their song Flattery has been on my must play list for years… and now they’re back!

On November 17th the sisters released their EP titled Ten Years, playing homage to the fact that the pair hasn’t released new music under their original name in ten years.

And I don’t know about you, but there’s really only word to describe the album: FLAWLESS!

With only four tracks the girls did their job right–leaving us begging for more! But more is on its way! The two have already announced that a full-length album is in the works and the word grateful just doesn’t feel like enough. With a new sound, matured vocals, and lyrics that only Aly & Aj can bring you I think it’s safe to say that fans, both old and new, are more than stoked for what’s in store!

But let’s talk about the track list for a second!

  • Take Me: A bop OG Aly & Aj fans couldn’t wait to sink their teeth into! I seriously haven’t heard a single bad review of the first single released from this EP.
  • I Know: I mean come onnnnnn! The Lyrics? The music? It’s giving us more than life! We’re all gonna be fine!
  • Promises: A vulnerable, intimate side to the sisters we really haven’t seen in this much detail before! The song paints a beautiful image of an experience I’m sure many can relate to.
  • The Distance: Wow. Just wow! This song doesn’t leave us feeling empty inside–it takes us the distance!

Okay, so what have we learned today? On days like Thanksgiving it’s more than appropriate to express gratitude for your favs that are still slaying the game! Ten years or not I believe I speak for all Aly & Aj fans when I say this EP is everything we needed and more!
