The Good

Lemon Flavored Problems

Of course, at one time or another, we have all had to make the best out of a bad situation. But when you are handed lemons in life, you have to realize that lemonade is not your only option. Yes, there are many things you can do with these particularly bad situations. You could sell the lemons. You could hit someone with one of your lemons, should they be assaulting you. You could peel the lemons and make little lemon art animals out of the shavings. You could go on a master cleanse with the lemons and clean up your inner being.

Your Options, Your Responsibility

There are many, many options here. But the important thing to note is to remember your options. They are always there. They have always been there and they will always be there.

But the thing is, it’s your responsibility to make the choice and start to squeeze, throw, sell, shave or consume those lemons. If you just sit there and think about the lemons and how they suck, that won’t help you. In fact, it will pretty much do the opposite. At best the lemons will grow moldy over time, at worst, you drive yourself into a lemon fever. At which point you start ordering lemon drop cookies, lemon meringue pie, lemon flavored soap.

You actually start thinking about lemons so much that it consumes you. These are your problems. You see, problems are best met with either A. action or B. A calm form of non-doing they call wu wei.

Yes if you cannot change something immediately, just meditate and let that problem go in your head first. Then reality will help it get out of your system and get you moving back on the right track that way. Problems aren’t simple, but solutions usually are. You can either start to act on them right away or for more difficult stuff, you let your subconscious mind deal with it while you cool your jets in nature! So get to it kids. Problems are just that, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t making you better!
