Why is it that humans can’t focus on whats important? They can do 1000 and 1 things but they somehow miss the obvious truth behind themselves. Is it fear of change? Is it a lack of understanding? Or is it just poor leadership. I would say it’s a lack of actual struggle and a lack of leadership. Half of humanity has no clue that they are capable of any form of spiritual cultivation. The other half know but they really don’t want to be bothered with something that doesn’t involve the cash and prizes of material satisfaction.

The reason to cultivate is so that you can not suffer. Being trapped in the system is suffering, you just can’t see it while you are on the upswing of its cycle. When you are broke, jobless, homeless, or imprisoned; its very easy to see why this world can be cruel and why you have to be spiritually centered to make it through… So really, cultivation is about letting go of the suffering of this world one day at a time. You might not be feeling suffering right this second, but until you build your spiritual life up, you can always be attacked in this life.

Whether it be through career, family life, love life, governmental nonsense or natural disaster; if you are not secure in your own head, then danger will always be a heartbeat away. But if you build up a host of good deeds or spiritual skills, then you can avoid many of these normal pitfalls of human existence. This is why things like tai chi and qigong are so crucial. They transmute the energy before it hits… Enjoy your day and do good!
